Angels and ascended masters are both quite wonderful beings. What I have been taught, thus my belief is that angels were instantaneously created in the Divine’s likeness, purity, and grace, constantly reflecting the knowledge, wisdom, kindness, and mercy of the Divine, while bridging Divine communication. This is different from ascended masters who are spiritually enlightened human beings who in past incarnations were ordinary people who underwent a series of spiritual transformations.
Angels are messengers, sent to guide, protect, and promote personal growth to be built on a spiritual base that connects a person with the Divine. Ascended masters are high vibrational, enlightened beings of love and light, promoting and supporting personal growth and development toward a stronger connection with the Divine. These masters surpass guardian angels and spirit guides.
In alignment with my spiritual teachings, angels are different from human beings. When a human being dies, they do not become an angel but can evolve to the level of ascended master. I’ve often been asked by clients, during a reading, if a particular loved one is now that person’s angel. Per my beliefs, they are not. They may certainly be a guide, teacher, guardian, and the like for that person, but are not their angel. The loved one may have also become a master and even ascended master. Though this is my belief, others hold a different belief. I think if what you believe gives you peace, comfort, and guidance, honor the other belief over what I believe. It’s the spiritual support and connection that is what’s most important.
There are 9 levels in the hierarchy of angels:
- Seraphim – first and highest order, a symbol of God, celestial hierarchy, associated with light, ardor, and purity.
- Cherubim – second order, attending to God and functions as a throne bearer of the Deity, and angels of mercy.
- Thrones and Dominions – third and fourth order; Thrones are angels of authority and powers, also known as “ophanim,” while Dominions govern the movement of stars, planets, and other celestial objects.
- Virtues – fifth order, known for their control of the elements.
- Powers – sixth order, one the right hand of God, power over evil forces, able to restrain and keep from harm.
- Principalities – seventh order, guide and protect nations, or groups of peoples, and institutions.
- Archangels – eighth order, though the second lowest level, they are still considered to have power and be at the top of the hierarchy, descend from the heavens to assist and guide, are the voice of God, tasked to help humanity.
- Angels – ninth order, this group includes guardian angels, who are special angels assigned to human beings, helping us throughout life, protecting from physical danger and spiritual danger, are representative of faith and hope; angels are benevolent celestial intermediaries between God and humanity, are considered to have the closest to human qualities, and are considered to have chosen to incarnate into human form to better understand life and life experiences.
Ascended masters are supernatural beings of great power who spread spiritual teachings throughout selected humans. The roles differ among the masters, with the intended purpose the same: to assist humanity on our ascension and to increase our awareness of the spiritual forces that permeate the Universe. Anyone can be an ascended master. This is a primary difference from angels. We all can ascend to the highest level, through successfully facing and completing many challenges, making positive life choices, in several rebirths, and through general life lessons. Each ascended master has completed many lifetimes of experience on Earth, and undergone a series of spiritual transformations, which can also be called “rebirths.” Through the process of personal growth, self-awareness, and making intentional and consistently positive choices, in higher order than considered human experience choices, a person is on a path of “self-mastery.” This self-mastery is the process of evolving and becoming more enlightened. This is a primary part of the spiritual journey to becoming an ascended master. It is choosing to live life through choices, expressions, and challenges that show an authentic expression of oneself in full magnificence.
We are here to all be ascended masters in the making. When a person has had an opportunity to connect with an ascended master, it is a life-changing experience, the highest order of a transforming event. Whatever choices you make and choose to live, remember there are angels and masters available to assist us to live this life in a higher order and manner that shows the path of enlightenment and connection with the Divine.
