Sometimes, when you want to attract a certain type of fae, there are particular ways to call them in. Each kind has its own preferences and roles—and when you learn how to welcome them, you open a door to incredible connection and co-creation.

🌿 Outdoor Fae

If you’re looking to draw in woodland, flower, or other outdoor fae, begin by simply asking. They love to be invited! A sign they’re already visiting your yard? Look for dragonflies, butterflies, or small birds—these are messengers of fae presence.

Outdoor fae often assist with:

  • Flower blooming
  • Plant vitality
  • Garden protection
  • Welcoming woodland critters
  • Creating beauty and natural harmony

🧺 Borrowers

If you’ve noticed things going missing around your home, you may have attracted a Borrower family. They tend to take only what you don’t appear to be using, repurposing those items to aid their tiny lifestyles.

A note about Borrower etiquette:
If you ask for something to be returned, they are bound by fae law to return it. If they’ve altered it in any way, you’ll either receive a substitute or the changed item back in pieces.

🪨 Trolls

Trolls are sacred guardians. They watch over spaces they’ve been asked to protect and are deeply tied to the land.

They are:

  • Protectors of homes and properties
  • Keepers of sacred and liminal spaces
  • Quiet watchers and powerful allies

🧹 Brownies

Brownies are industrious and love to stay busy. They’re natural helpers who often assist with home cleaning and small tasks—though their help may not always follow your organization system!

Traits of Brownies include:

  • Putting things “away,” though not always where you’d expect
  • Easily distracted by interesting items or changes in energy
  • Generally kind and helpful when treated with respect

💧 Water Babies

These gentle beings will only come if you provide moving water (a fountain, stream, or natural body of water). They may visit temporarily if the water is heavily treated, as they prefer clean, flowing energy.

Water Babies bring:

  • Cleansing energy
  • Flow and movement
  • Fun, play, and emotional renewal

✨ Fairies & Pixies

Fairies are beautiful beings with a wide range of gifts. Each one has specific skills and roles they love to perform.

Pixies are playful and social. They help fresh-cut flowers stay vibrant longer and assist indoor plants in thriving. Woodland pixies especially enjoy working with houseplants.

🐉 Mystical & Magical Creatures

In addition to the “common” fae, you may also be visited by:

  • Unicorns
  • Dragons
  • Mystical birds
  • Axolotls
  • Dragonflies (as fae messengers)

Some of these beings exist both on our side of the veil and theirs, and some remain purely in the mystical realms. You can still invite them—and when they appear, they bring deep, transformative energy.

A Gentle Reminder:

Even when invited, fae have the right to choose whether or not they visit. Some may linger in a region and move from home to home. Others only stop by occasionally. A few prefer to stay on their side of the veil but will still watch and offer quiet guidance.

Some are shapeshifters or veil-walkers, able to cross between worlds and remain unseen—watch for subtle shadows or shifts in light.

There are only so many fae, and they are not bound to our timelines or expectations. They respond to resonance, not demand.

The more harmony we cultivate in our world, the more the veil thins. When that happens, more of the fae may choose to share daily life with us.

Be open. Be aware. Be kind. Watch for how they present themselves to you—because it’s always personal and beautifully unique.

Honor them, and they will honor you.

If you have questions or want more personalized insight, I’d love to connect. It’s truly a joy for me to share space with the fae.
