Summer is a wonderful time to enjoy a refreshing glass of iced tea.
Next time you are brewing some good-quality, pet-friendly organic tea, share it.
- Brew a cup for yourself.
- Reserve a small amount for your dog. Dilute it with cool water and offer it to your pup.
- Then offer the spent leaves from the brewed tea to the faeries near you. Give the faeries the spent leaves because to them it is considered a more thoughtful gift.
The first brew of tea leaves is for flavor. After the leaves have opened and had a little time to rest, the second brew opens the leaves further to release more of their properties, including antioxidants and other beneficial qualities. So to the faeries, giving them spent leaves is offering a gift of greater health and well-being.
I admit, I sometimes mix fresh leaves in with my spent leaves so my gift to my faeries includes both flavor and well-being.
And my dogs love their slightly flavored tea water. Their favorite flavors are chamomile, peppermint, and lavender. There are a few other pet-friendly, good-quality organic teas you can find as well. I personally prefer loose-leaf teas more than pre-bagged, but you can decide what is best for you.
The summer we were houseboating, our pups really enjoyed our daily ritual of offering tea to them and our faerie friends each morning as we sat meditating together. That was a wonderful week.
I don’t need a houseboating experience to honor my pups, cat friends, and faerie friends. I simply place some offerings in my yard or at a nearby park. I admit it is not a daily ritual, but rather something I do once every week or two.
It is important, when sharing, to use good-quality organic tea and, when sharing with a pet, to make sure it is pet-friendly.
