We are still in the Year of the Wood Snake. The Year of the Fire Horse does not begin until February 17, 2026, and this distinction matters more than many realize.
Right now, we are moving through the final phase of Wood Snake energy. Understanding what the snake — and specifically the Wood Snake — represents can offer grounding, clarity, and reassurance during this time.
Wood Snake carries the elements of Earth and Water, while Fire Horse brings Fire and Air. These are very different energetic expressions. Earth and Water ask us to slow down, feel, and release. Fire and Air will later ask for movement, courage, and action.
Snake energy is traditionally associated with shedding, often referred to as holy shedding. Holy shedding is not always something we consciously choose. It is what cannot come with us into the next cycle — even when we don’t yet understand why.
This is not a failure or loss. It is preparation.
